K T Chandy is a Partner with Ernst & Young’s tax and regulatory practice and is associated with the Technology, Communications and Entertainment Business Unit in India. Ernst & Young, one of the world’s largest professional service providers is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services and has offices in 11 locations in India, including Kochi.
Chandy is a Commerce graduate from the University of Mumbai and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has been with Ernst & Young since 2002 and is currently based out of the Bangalore office.
At Ernst & Young, Chandy has advised a vast clientele of MNCs and Indian corporate operating in wide sectors such as technology, hospitality, defense, retail, education, financial services, real estate sectors etc, on Indian tax and regulatory issues. His key areas of experience are in the fields of merger and acquisition tax; inbound/ outbound investment structuring; international tax and tax litigation. His clients include MNCs like Wipro Technologies, Flipkart, IBM, Manipal Group, TNT Corporation and also private equity fund players like Blackstone and Accel Partners, to name a few.
Prior to this stint, he was working with the Arthur Andersen Practice that merged with Ernst & Young in 2002. He has addressed several forums in India such as ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, ICAI, Chamber of Commerce and some business schools on various tax and regulatory issues
